Accompaniment to indigenous communities in Rurrenabaque, Bolivia

The MICI disseminates its new Policy in Buenos Aires

Banca para el desarrollo: Nuevos frentes para la participación ciudadana

El pasado, 8 de junio se realizó el Taller de Mecanismos de Rendición de Cuentas y Sociedad Civil, en México. Fue organizado por FUNDAR y el Centro de Colaboración Cívica (CCC). FUNDEPS participó como integrante del Grupo Regional sobre Financiamiento e Infraestructura (GREFI) junto a más de 90 representantes de organizaciones civiles de varios estados de México.

Los conflictos socioambientales relacionados a las industrias extractivas y a la construcción de megaproyectos de infraestructura son una realidad creciente en toda América Latina. Su emergencia se explica, sobre todo, por la vigencia de marcos regulatorios débiles, la baja capacidad de supervisión estatal y mecanismos de consulta ciudadana inadecuados o inexistentes.

Reuniones de Primavera y encuentro del MICI con Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil

Esta semana FUNDEPS participa de una serie de eventos en el marco de las Reuniones de Primavera del Banco Mundial. Entre ellos, se presentó el informe “Glass Half Full?: The State of Accountability in Development Finance”. Además, formó parte de un importante evento organizado por el Mecanismo Independiente de Consulta e Investigación del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, donde se analizó la posibilidad de crear un Consejo Consultivo Externo.

Desde el 13 hasta el 18 de abril tendrán lugar, en Washington, los eventos de las Reuniones de Primavera del Banco Mundial, en los que participan funcionarios gubernamentales, el sector privado, periodistas, integrantes de círculos académicos y representantes de la sociedad civil. En este marco, FUNDEPS forma parte de numerosos eventos y actividades paralelas que se dan lugar en esta semana.

Glass Half Full?. Annex 11: The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism of the Inter-American Development Bank

The report “Glass Half Full? The State of Accountability in Development Finance” assessed the extent to which development finance institutions (DFIs) provide access to remedy for those harmed by DFI-financed activities. Annex 11 of this report, authored by FUNDEPS, assess the particular case of the MICI (Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism) of the IDB.
