We seek to work with all the groups that intervene in the development process: with different government levels, other civil society organizations, the private sector, the academic sector, communities, and the public. The objective is to promote a sustainable, equitable and participatory development guided by human rights.

We structure our work in 5 areas that constantly interact and develop the following activities: research, training and capacity building, political advocacy, strategic litigation, networking, and awareness campaigns.

States’ Extraterritorial Obligations regarding the protection of human rights

Despite the universitality of human rights, a large number of States continue interpreting their obligations as applicable only within their own territory. This has led to an important void in the protection of these rights, for which reason a series of principles has been developed that intend to clarify what States' extraterritorial obligations are in terms of economic, social and cultural rights.

The IDB approves the ICIM’s new policy. A weaker and less reliable Mechanism

With virtually no regard for the comments and suggestions from civilsociety, the IDB has approved the new policy of the IndependentConsultation and Investigation Mechanism (ICIM). Foundation for the Development of Sustainable Policy (FUNDEPS) submits Amicus Curiae in tobacco-related cases in Argentina and Colombia

The department of human rights submitted two Amicus Curiae briefs, enabling public participation in court cases, in discussions concerning health protection and tobacco control. FUNDEPS seeks to promote legal frameworks and protect the human right to health.
